The Jividens are professional photographers, who work from their studio and offices in the Historic District of Chillicothe, Ohio. They began working together in 1990, and may be best known for their photography in wildlife and nature conservation.

Both Jerry and Barb are (Ohio) state certified photography instructors, teaching a variety of photography-related topics, including editing and post-processing software.  Additionally, they work with commercial clients to produce brand-specific images, including logo designs and branding solutions.  They also supply stock photography to publishers, advertisers, and graphic designers. And last, but not least, their studio serves the photographic needs of hundreds of clients per year, doubling as a classroom for their “One-on-One” private photography training sessions.

Jerry and Barb also offer a wide variety of fine art prints and have sold their images to buyers globally.  They travel nationally as speakers and educators, delivering presentations on various aspects of nature and wildlife photography.

In 2020, the Jividens’ first book was published by Alpine Mountain Books, LLC.  The small publishing company chose the Jividens’ work as their first title release, “Mom—In the Dictionary Between Laughter and Noise.”  Barb authored the short children’s book, while together they illustrated the book with artistic renderings created from their original photographs.  Interestingly, this book was actually written and photographed in 2002, but stalled when the team couldn’t find the right design plan for their story and images.  Nearly two decades later, and with the availability of many more post-processing and editing options, they were able to hone the images to create the perfect, whimsical touch to finalizing this popular children’s book.

The Jividens’ photos also appear in scores of books, magazines, and calendars for other publishers as well.  This includes marketing and advertising media for many national and international publishers, and to corporate buyers.  Their photography has also appeared on billboards, maps, postcards and on other merchandise. This diverse team has also produced photo-text packages that have been used in Visitors Guides, Travel Planners and in newspaper travel sections throughout their careers.
